TFO has formally expressed interest to become a code sponsor for the Trading Standards Institute (TSI) Consumer Codes Approval Scheme (CCAS), a self-regulating scheme which aims to enhance consumer protection, reduce consumer detriment – where money is lost, eg in a transaction, deposit or pre-payment – and improve customer service standards.

As a code sponsor, TFO will allow its members to become code members and abide by a separate code of practice as part of the scheme. These members will be easily recognised by displaying the TSI-approved code logo.

Natalie Williams, outreach executive for TFO, attended the conference in Brighton, and as a prospective code sponsor was invited to meet Jo Swinson MP, Minister for Employment Relations and Consumer Affairs.

Natalie says: “I was delighted to have been invited to represent TFO at the TSI Conference, and thrilled to have been introduced to Jo Swinson MP.
