The total exhibition space grew by around 6%. As at previous versions of interzum, decision-makers were the main visitors at the trade fair, which exhibitors have always found praiseworthy.

 

A total of around 53,000 trade visitors – including estimates from the last day of the trade fair – (52,400 visitors in 2011) came to the metropolis on the Rhine. Around 18,000 visitors were from Germany. More than 35,000 came from 148 countries. Above all, there were increases in visitor numbers from abroad. In particular, this included from China, the US, Great Britain, Russia, Poland and Turkey.

Help to Buy begins to boost property market

Demand for property rose to its highest level in over three years during April, as the Government’s announcement on the Help to Buy scheme began to make an impact on the UK’s housing market, according to the latest RICS residential market survey (14th May).

 

Last month, new buyer enquiries rose to their highest level in over three years, with 25% more chartered surveyors reporting demand for property rose rather than fell. The latest jump in enquiries (from 13% more in March) strongly suggests that along with the existing Funding for Lending scheme, Help to Buy, is attracting interest even if the mortgage guarantee element of the product is not due to come into effect until next year.
