TFO celebrates 20th anniversary

The Furniture Ombudsman (TFO), the independent body which specialises in providing alternative dispute resolution solutions for consumers and retailers in the furniture and home improvement industry, celebrated its 20th anniversary in November.  ekonglong fabric sofa

To mark the occasion, the organisation opened its doors at its headquarters in Stevenage to the deputy mayor and deputy mayoress of Stevenage, councillor Jack Pickersgill and councillor Margaret Davies-Pickersgill, and local MP Stephen McPartland, chair of the All Party Parliamentary Furniture Group.

Members of the Standards Board – which oversees the activities of the Ombudsman Standards Board – also attended the event, as well as Ken Fullalove, who was chair of TFO council for many years, and was heavily involved with TFO and its original format as a dispute resolution service. Many of TFO’s qualified consultants were also at the event.

“We’ve come a long way in 20 years,” says Kevin Grix, head of TFO. “I am proud that so many of the leading furniture and home improvement businesses choose to hold membership of TFO. Many of these companies have been members for a number of years – some since the very beginning. Today however, I wish to commend all of our members, new and old, and wish to say ‘thank you’ for their continued commitment in helping us to raise standards.”
